As of July 1st the slot limit on Banks Lake has permanently moved to the 12"-22" and 8 fish per day limit. Limits are now the norm, not the exception.
The size of the walleye have been from the tasty eating size of 15-16 inches, all the way up to 30 inches with fish in the 18-22 inch range also being caught.
I am having 70-100 fish days on Banks Lake right now as you are able to catch and release walleye until you get the ones you want to keep.
Key techniques have been pulling crankbaits early in the morning or when there is wind, then switching over to bottom bouncers and Mack's Lure Smile Blades with Slow Death Hooks once the sun gets higher in the sky.
The weather forecast is calling for our 100 degree weather to go away in a few days which will make fishing much more comfortable.
I still have some days open in July and August so give me a call to stock up on some walleyes fillets.
