Took a co-worker out today and gave him full run of the back deck. We caught quite a few largies under a pound. I look down at my reel and out of the corner of my eye see this reaction from the back deck. I realize he just set into a good one. This thing went down into the thick grass and came out looking like the toxic avenger.
3.3 Pounds Good day with interesting weather.

Was there a lot of water skiers on the lake today? Also what was you using?
Fishing shallow? Deep?

Not too busy later on as the police boat was out and the 5mph limit was being enforced. Assortment of plastics. Coolest thing I saw all day was one explode on a swimbait I had thrown onto some surface grass. As soon as it hit an opening..BOOM!

Nice to see an occasional Largie post from this lake! We just moved my older son's family into Sawyer Grove last week. I'll be over on this lake the weekend of July 18th with hopes of catching some of the nice Smallies that Amx catches, along with some Largies too!

The buckets are in there. We saw a few cruising that looked bigger than this one. Gotta work for them no doubt. I'm starting to wonder if Amx leaves Sammamish smallies in his livewell and then takes photos prior to dumping in Sawyer. Couple pounds is biggest smallie I've run into on this lake.

answer: Nope, I refuse to transplant smallies from one lake to another. Besides it's illegal. Now if I wanted to transplant ANY fish, it would be Largies. Not enough Largies in Sawyer any more. Not enough Largies in Sammamish either so I wouldn't remove Largies form that lake. :-) My live wells haven't been used in many eons. I usually catch bigger Smallies in Sawyer than Sammamish anyway.
