My neighbor and I hit the water about 6 pm, lk Morton has an excellent launch for a little lake boat, especially if you're hauling it with a big truck like me. I live just up the road from lk Morton, so it's an all around convenience to head out really quick after work.
Anyway, things were pretty slow for the first hour, but after a few passes around the lake and some different bait and lure set ups it turns out that a pink kokanee killer wedding ring (the one with the fins, not the spinner) was the one. My neighbor, mike snipped the second hook off of his, but I kept mine on, it made no difference. A little piece of worm was the bait of choice. We were only out for 2-2.5 hours, I had a ton of hits but I was too busy BS'n to set the hook. All in all it was a good time, we each got one in the boat, both fairly large, 12" ish. Got a few hooked and broke the surface but only walked away with the two. We were out to cruise around on the boat and enjoy the weather and drops some lines in the water and we succeeded, not a freezer filling day but a good time nonetheless.
