My lady and I had the same days off so we headed east to try our hand at some Walleye. Made it to the lake late Wednesday night and set up camp at Mardon resort. Hit the lake at dawn and got into fish right off the bat but they weren't what we were looking for. First time ever catching a bunch of perch and dink smallmouth while trolling. Didn't know the prime places to be so we planned to work the entire lake until we got lucky. Headed north past the state park and came across some sand dunes with nice cover and decided to drop anchor and have lunch. Between bites of my sandwich I started pitching a drop shot into a hole that kept marking fish periodically and as I was reeling in to give it another go I felt a little tap then my rod tip loaded and almost went under the boat. At first I thought I had a big bass until I got it close to the boat. After a nice little fight I landed my first walleye of the day a 21". My lady wanted in on the action too so she just dropped her worm over board 20 seconds later was into the catch of the day a 26" monster. Worked the area for a while longer and nothing so we called it a day and headed back to camp.
