Another great day at Dog! I caught my limit easily. All were released, except this nice 16 incher. I once again fished at the wide spot on highway 12 right before the campground (heading west). Pink and Yellow Power Eggs both worked great. The weather was sporadic - rain, then sun, then breeze, then dead calm. It was a great way to spend a day of vacation!!!

C'mon dude! Why not eat them? Or give them to someone who would? Or how about just not fish with bait if you plan to release the fish you catch? I'm not sure if you are aware that they all likely died after you released them, so I'm just saying. Try spinners. Way more fun and way less wasted floaters in your wake.

I'm not going to get into an argument here, but I will answer all your questions.

1) I always use spinners and lures whenever possible. I tried Kastmasters, Rooster Tails, Even a float bobber with a Wooly Bugger on it. NOTHING WORKED.

2) MORTALITY RATE:

"A much higher percentage of fish that are hooked deeply survive when the hook is left in and the line cut compared to those where a deep hook is removed. In the few scientific studies where the fate of hooks that were left in fish released by anglers were tracked, it has been learned that hooks were eventually shed by the fish or surrounded by new tissue. One study found that rainbow trout shed hooks in about 40 days. The study of 200 hundred trout released without removal of hooks 66 percent survived"

3) Not even counting the mortality rate of "deep hooked" fish listed in number 2) Lip hooks are not deadly. THIS IS WHY I KEPT THE ONE I DID. It was deep hooked, even though studies say there is a 66 percent chance it would live. I REITERATE, lip hooks are not usually fatal.

4) I used bait only as a last resort as other methods were not working.

5) Any other questions?
