After a good nights rest I was up at 5am and after a strong cup of coffee was in the boat at 5:45 getting ready for a trolling show as I had had enough of still fishing- Nick was kind enough to give me one of his flies so I tied one of those on with just a tiny weight and another with an olive pistol pete fly. Greg had slept in and wasn't sure if he was going to make it so decided to just troll in front of the dock and keep a look out for him as I made some circles.

Well what a difference a day makes as now it was misting and everyone was getting into fish! Soon I could see a red baseball cap on the dock so went and picked up Greg about 7:30 to give him a change to finally hook one. We were trolling a variety of things and the fly was picking up a few but wanted to try something else.

I said you know last time out I was killing it with Toni's wannafishalure orange thing tipped with pink gulp maggots and why not try. No sooner did I have the line back 80 feet then WHAM!! Fish on for Gregg! A fat rainbow so I put another one on the other trolling line but kept on fly straight out back. Soon I had a nice take down on the other orange thang and it was a 16" tiger trout.

Now we were getting close to quiting time as breakfast was at 11am so I said lets take a spin into the cove where the big browns hang out and troll through there with these lures but bring it in to 45 feet so we can make turns in there. As we were making a turn and heading out of the cove, Greg's rod buries and I think he has hung up but soon see it pulling out line faster then we were trolling so said " hang on that's a big one!" He expertly worked the fish closer to the boat and I kept it in gear so it didn't feel too much resistence as with the very light gear I run was worried it would make a dash for the bushes we were getting close to. Soon I saw the tail on the surface and realized it was a monster brown!! I took it out of gear and Greg slowly glided it to the net and WHOOSH!! Into the boat goes the biggest brown ever caught out of my boat!!!

We measured it at 24.5" and over 5lbs on my scale but when I got back to the store they had an official scale that weighed it at 5 lb 15 ounces so I feel safe calling this beast a 6lber!! On top of that we also got a perch!! haha! So I was happy with the way it ended and of course another great time with a fantastic group of men and look forward to next year! I think the picture came out real cool with the beautiful scenery in the background!

Thanks for reading all these and now can't wait to get a new top for the Tin cup as it is being held together by duct tape and has seen it's last days. Hopefully will get it back in time to hit Lake WA by the end of the week!
