Hit american lake up solo .I fished before light till 11 and it was slow going .hooked no kokanee before 8 so I went down to the east end and fished for rbt with rapalas and c&r 8 or 9 rbt to 16 or so inches not using scent or bait I hit rbt till I got bored than trolled back to the kokanee spot.nothing right away than it was fish on and it was the biggest of the day at 17.5 inches and what a fight.I c&r two other kokes in the 11 inch range and lost 2 others just shy of the boat .several times my release popped but lost them right away could of been rbt .kokanee kid has a mysis bug setup and it works 90% of the kokes this year I've got them on it .I normally use shrimp/prawn scent but it was a garlic corn day.water temp was 61 to 62.every fish caught was 35ft down or deeper.
