Started the day by getting lost. Went to the Department of fish and game and clicked on the map this lake on the site. It took me to a dirt road and half mile down it, it was bared. I am not the worlds best backer upper, but made it back down the road LOL. A half mile from the lake its 25 mph, and I cruising along, window down, and listening to the radio when I hear a clunkty clunk clunk. Pull over and my left downrigger is hanging from the boat by the power cord. Finally getting to the lake, it was a great Drive?
Setting the Trolling motor on go. I was stripping off line and only ten feet back I watched a great Cuttthroat grab my hootchie. I then totally jinxed myself by saying "Its going to be a great day now" Yep, slowed down. Tried different depths and colors but could find no schools yet. Best producer was silver and Florescent green popgear with a green wedding ring flat lining. Picked up 5 solo Kokanee's between 11-13" and the first 16" cutthroat who was very skinny.
Pretty lake and was cloudy all day but they clouds hung on the mountains and never dropped any rain. Think I will try it again now that I know the way!
