Hiked in to Lost Lake with my two boys (7 and 12) from the logging road at the intersection of Lake Chaplain and Diversion Dam road. It was a 3.4 mile hike in, with the last half mile bushwacking through some mixed density forest. We arrived at the lake at 3:00pm and to our surprise found another couple fishing off the dock. We had a great time and caught two rainbows before we left at 4:30. Fishing was just starting to pick up, but we were parked behind a gate that was closing at 6:00pm and needed to head out! We tried single egg, bobber with egg and then switched to powerbait with a slip anchor and had success. The dock is getting a little worn and has a broken board (which my oldest fell through) but is still functional. Weather was beautiful and the lake was too. I always enjoy getting "lost" at this lake.

Great pic of a nice fish with your son. Time spent like this is priceless; great job Dad.

Question: The dock is still functional or your oldest is still functional? The hike back is long, with an injury.

He's fine thankfully. The land is PUD owned and I left a voicemail for the Operations Director of the Lake Chaplain treatment plant to see if I could get access through their gates with my truck to bring up some materials to repair the dock. A few 2x6's and it should hold up for quite a while. The dock was built by the Snohomish Sportsman Club in 2008. Hopefully they'll let me drive in, a hike with lumber and tools won't be much fun but we would do it!

Update - PUD contacted me today and said that the dock was repaired and ready to go!
