Took my boyfriend fishing for the first time, lots of people and we waited around for about an hour for a spot on the shore to fish. When we finally got a spot (my lucky spot) everyone kept getting lines tangled together, it was crowded and very annoying. We used power bait and put some garlic sauce on (I use it every time and it works great). I cast my boyfriends reel out while I went to set my pole up, but someone got his line and ours tangled, so after an hour of having to fix my boyfriends line constantly because people would throw their lines right over ours, I finally got my pole set up. We wait and saw lots of fish jumping but they weren't biting. Stayed for 3-4 hours, boyfriend caught 3 I caught 0.
The most annoying part, was that people would come with their little row boats(not fishermen, just family's) and launch off the shore were we fished and instead of avoiding our lines and fishing area (they had an entire lake!) they all decided to row right over our lines! And the kids would splash their hands in the water to scare the fish :(

That's what the special combat pole with braided line is for. I have notice there are a few people who are using poles rated for 1/2 oz or less and overloading them with 1 oz or more thinking it will get them farther. Well it doesn't work and when they cast they have no control of where it will go. Maybe this post will help them understand. But just keep coming back to Beaver lake because it get's better and is a very nice lake.

That why I quit fishing the park side of the lake .(mine was a guy and his 4 dogs he threw a tennis ball right on top of my line 4 dogs crashing into the water at 6am blew the morning bite ) The Park has a sign your dog must be on a leash and in control at all times. I guess he was privileged and cant read . I only fish the lake now by boat to avoid mishaps from the park side.
