Not only are the walleye cooking on Banks but so are the smallmouth bass. The smallmouth are currently relating to water depths of 3-10 feet and are clobbering crankbaits. Today we hit numerous smallies on crawdad patterned Berkley Flicker Shads, Bomber 7As, as well as Live Target Cranks.

Target flats that have scattered boulders for great success. Today I fished from the Million Dollar Mile north to Electric City and found smallmouth in each area that had scattered boulders in water depths of 3-10 feet.

The fish are in pre-spawn mode and will continue to feed heavily before the spawn comes in about a month.
