Fishing was incredible this past Friday. I listed my hookup times below, but the basic narrative went like this:
I've had most of my success over the past month and a half on the south end of the lake, but it was starting to slow down a little bit. As I got on the water, I decided I would fish the east run first and then pickup and head over to green roof and make my north end runs. 3 minutes into fishing I had my first hookup. I kept going and picked up another one closer to the point as I went through a substantial bait ball.
On the north end, the fishing was consistent the entire day. I finally made my way back to the south end at about 2:30 and decided to leave a line in the water while I began to clean some of my fish. When I was finished I went to reel in my line and, to my surprise, I had a fish on! a nice 17" cut.
Weather conditions did not give an indicator that the lake would fish that well, but I guess that is just how fishing goes.
All in all, a great day. I went 12/14 and had an additional 4 hits that did not result in a hookup. I did not keep a cutthroat under 17" that day.
