My son & I launched about 10 this morning and I no sooner had my first line in the water trolling, and I had a fighter on! It was a nice looking trout. One of the bigger ones I'd ever caught on this lake. I got my 2nd line in the water and within about 20 minutes, I had 4 of my 5 fish limit in the boat! All were about 12" long, nice fat rainbows. My son finally caught his first fish by this time. We were trolling woolley buggers in brown/copper, and black with a red tip (this one was a Pistol Pete). We were in 25-50ft of water most of the time, trolling the west side of the lake down to the south end and then circling back along the west side again.

As it turns out, all of the fish we caught today were about 12" long and had girths of either 2 1/2 or 3". We have always enjoyed this lake in the spring, and this is the first year we have returned to it in the fall. Fall is definitely better than spring. The fish are bigger, the lake is less crowded and the meat is nice & pink.

We are going to try to get back at least one more time before it closes the end of this month.

I have taken my small children to Bosworth a couple of times with no luck. Can I get some more info? Were you using anything else with the woolie buggers? Like a dodger or something similar? I have used dodgers and wedding rings with worms, eggs, and power bait with no luck.

What we have found that works best for us is to troll a woolley bugger OR a Pistol Pete (a woolley bugger with a small propeller on it- Cabela's sells them). We have them on leader that is about 24-28" long, behind a ball-bearing swivel. We also use weight to get the lines deeper, as this is where the bigger fish have been. We do not use dodgers. We have been tipping the woolley buggers with part of a worm. I even caught a bass using this method (last trip, not this recent one). We troll in about 25-40' typically, but have found most trout to be on the west and south sides of the lake. Using an electric motor, I vary my speed, going from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 as the battery strength starts to get weaker. I hope this info helps you and your kids catch more fish. This is a great lake - one of our favorites.
