Well, Its been some time and figured I would post up a report as I have been out twice in the last two weeks but only came home with one fish each time a little rusty....lol.

Anyway hit the lake at 12:55 and started trolling normal stuff but no takers. Headed over to the north side of Silcox Is and started getting drive by's. I speed up a little and wham the pole goes bananas and game on, first koke in the boat. Reset the gear and made another pass and presto a second fish this one is big and heavy I take my time and after a few minutes it right at the boat I reach down and grab the net and the fish runs and snaps my line and swims away with the dodger and lure in his mouth as I cry and say a few choice words.

Reset the gear and back to fishing. Got another a few hours later but next years fish but in the box he went. Did a few loops and put another in the boat a nice fish. Wife called says dinner is cooking so I start packing up the DR and let the line drift and as I pick up the last pole a rainbow is one the line and in the box he went.

All in all a good day cloudy and sunny later on. DR was set at 33 feet and fished two poles on one DR stacked. Can't wait to head out again but deer season starts Saturday so....fishing will be on hold.

Tight lines....

Thanks for the report. How big was the next years fish? I recognize the lure, Pink Ice, and Dick Nite dodger?

The dodger was a SEPS. The meat was very Pink and firm they will smoke up nice. DjButler thank you sir! The bottom fish in the picture is what I called next years fish, maybe I am wrong he is about 11 inches? The larger fish was very dark in color he gave a good fight to. Yes that is your Pink Ice from Wana Fish a lure by Toni I knew I forgot something. It catches alot of fish for me always one of my go to lures.

i was out there too. hit the lake at 730. not a hit. not many on the fish finder, either. i trolled north end of island. no hits. very foggy. i got one small rainbow, which i released. left at ten am. i used to rail on these fish, at this lake. something is missing. spoke to a fellow, who was getting ready to go out after some large perch. he said he gets em all the time, and they puke up tons of koke babies. this is why the perch are so big, and why the kokanee are big, but FEW. i ate some clear fish last night. they were delicisous. so, the ones you got, would be just as good as they get. i have noticed no loss in quality, and clears seem to be even more mature. perhaps i left too soon, as the fog was still on, while left....

Doc, the fog was gone when I arrived but still very cloudy outside. Hmm might be time to go after some perch and help the kokes out bit. The fish seem to be moving around the lake more. I have not fished clear this year but if I get the chance next week I will give it a go. I am so used to American and its closer to me. I really want to give Alder a try one of these days.

I see in the regs that Clear lake in Thurston county list kokes as a option have you every fished that small lake or heard of anyone catching them at that lake? Tight lines, Eric
