Zagdogg007, thanks for the report; sounded like a couple of productive days. I'm heading up to Roosevelt on Wednesday and we'll devote one day to boating uncle wally. I'm not familiar with walleye magic; what sort of configuration is this and were you using any worm with it?
I'm discovered that a bottom bouncer with at least an 18" vertical rod is far more effective than the shorter "store bought" versions. The longer version gets the harness about 12" higher off the bottom. I've also wrapped pipe cleaners around the 2oz weights and soak it with crawfish scent. The combination seems to be a winner even when they have lock jaw. The longer bouncers can be constructed of thicker coat hangers with the weights attached to the hanger wire by clamping (with a large lead split shot) the wire portion of a store bought bouncer weight directly to the coat hanger wire. Works great. Maybe not pretty, but damn it really works.

Greetings SnoKing. The Walleye magic basically is composed of a round floating spinner, a blade spinner, and some beads with two large hooks on a double whammy at the end. We were using a whole worm continuously placed from one hook to the other. I also soaked some white corn in minced garlic for a few days which is what I tipped the back hook with. A deadly combination. Caught a lot of 14"ers, which I don't mind since I didn't have to clean quite as many fish. Even with the large hooks we would catch a nice perch or two here and there when my depth was a little shallow.
Thank you for the pointer on the bottom bouncer. I really like the pipe cleaner thought. I will have to adopt that some time.

thanks for the report, I am heading over this sat. and will be targeting the smallies Where is a good spot to go for them and what launch should I use as it is my first trip to the lake. Any tips helps. I am going to add a post under the threads too. Thanks again. I also have a couple of bottom bouncers I want to try out as well. Never used them either.

Thanks for the report. Fished banks today for bass in the punch bowl. Got lots of walleye on my Texas rigged lizards and senkos. Bazzdude smallies are everywhere there's rock. Along hwy 155 is a good spot. I been throwing craw red shad raps and zoom lizards in green. I would launch at steamboat or Northrup launch. Water level is still down about 2 feet.
