It's been 3 entire days, over 72 hours, since I was fishing. I was getting withdrawals. And I hadn't eaten dinner. Clearly, the solution was to go catch some fish, or not have any dinner if I didn't!
So I rolled to Magnussen Park and was fishing by 7:30. Sun down and dark by around 8:15, so needless to say, I wasn't letting my drop shot sit more than 10-15 seconds in any given spots.
As usual the weeds were fierce, and 2 sinkers were lost. But 45 minutes of fishing resulted in 4 rock bass and 2 perch, with another rock bass biting and then going to sleep about 8:20 when I lost my second sinker and had to re-tie by phone flashlight. Once it got legitimately dark they all went to sleep I guess.
The rock bass in the picture is comically fat. I was super confused ... could it have eggs? No no, no way they spawn this time of year. Well, the answer was, in it's belly were not one, but TWO crawdads! And the little fat bastard went for my worm on top of that? He was gonna rupture some organs! Needless to say, I think I've found the reason I can't catch any crawdads in the area.
