Well due to busy happenings I havent been able to get out and fish for almost 2 months. My oldest said she wanted to go but not too early. I think that 2am trip for the derby is still on her mind. After getting all ready she decided she didnt want to go but my youngest wanted to go so I got things ready for her and off we went with a late start. In the water just after 10 am and I head out to the middle near the aerator. Marking fish at 50-80 ft I dropped one rod to 55 and the other at 65. I used some home made lures one in green and the other in pink. Hooked 2 on the green one in the boat and the other gave me a head shake but was gone when I grabbed the rod. I changed out my pink lure to a green and dropped it back down with a take down right away but it was a very small one which released its self at the boat making it easy for me. My other rod goes off and while reeling it in I was trying to get my youngest to reel it in but it was hard for her. She looked over the edge of the boat saying hi fishy. I ended up with one more fish and after getting my line out of the net I tossed it back in the water and watched my lure come off the dodger. After investigation and some frustration I must have pinched open the clip while getting it out of the net or I didnt get it clipped at the start. Oh well hot lure lost. It was getting time for nap time and we ended up with one more fish and I decided to call it quits around 1:30. We ended out day with a total of 3 one at just over 12 one at 13 1/4 and one at 13 3/4. This was a fun first boat trip by myself with the youngest. The dodgers used were DN chrome pink and green pink with shoe peg corn on the hooks. Not bad since most give up around 10 am for Koks. Most productive for me was 60-65 ft tried to maintain 1.2-1.4 mph
