Well, the wind blew heavily, my wife didn't like the over-civilized noisy setting, and the fish were tiny. The little ones have moved in but the big ones haven't followed. There was one great moment where a 3/4" bass grabbed the end of the worm and simply had stuffed it in so much he couldn't let go! Talked to 4 other fishermen, and the best they did from 7 am to 2:30 was 2 nice perch. Late summer pattern isn't in yet, but it seems close.

I went off the bridge today, perch were biting well when we were there but the wind was a pain. The other guy there was slaying jumbo perch. Thought I'd check it out since Potholes was pretty slow for crappie.

Nice. Didn't think they were that close, but glad to hear it!

Hey Brother, a few of us spent the weekend there on the South end. We were in the inflatable pontoons and kayaks. We worked that area, the bridge, and a couple miles of bank around the boat lauch just north west of the 90 bridge.. Just a few perch. Don't you think that algea bloom has something to do with it? Seemed like most of the anglers went full bore north out of the launch. Is the water cleared up the more north you go? We did see a carp do 15 seconds of tail walking...that was a first.

Yeah, the bloom makes it hard to fish, and tends to localize fish. Saw some pontoons and kayaks. Great way to fish! They'll move in more soon.
