Visited Larsen last Saturday. Got there about 5:20, but due to epic line snarl, and my being dumb and not just cutting it, probably didn't start fishing till 5:45. As usual caught a bunch of crappie, mostly tiny, but 2 keepers. Also tried worm on bottom to see what would volunteer. I've never caught a bullhead above 5 inches before, but when the first one came up about 10 inches, I decided that I'd be eating bullhead! Pic of final take home. Was a good morning.
On a side note, at one point there was all this roiling of the water around my bobber and I was like what the heck is that! Turned out it was the turtle in the pic heh. So not wanting to have to get a crowbar to get my jig out of the turtle's mouth, I reeled in and he chased it a bit. So I cast again, and he looks over 30 feet away at it, and heads straight for it again! Pretty belligerent turtle! Pic was taken later when he swam over by the dock.
I returned to Larsen that night and caught a few more crappie, 2 keepers.
I'm giving this 5 stars for a first time try on the bottom and getting 3 huge (in my view) bullheads, and the turtle.
Although after trying to butcher those bullheads, holy cow, I *REALLY* dont know what I'm doing.
