Got there, boat in water, about sun up. 7am give or take. Headed north up the lake. Bobber and white jig along lily pads. Zero bites. Was hoping to get a couple of crappie, but as with my last 10 outings for such, nothing.

Eventually got bored and switched to little frog lookin lure. Cast that into the edge of the pads and fought the wind for ... oh, I'd say about 4 hours. Landed a couple minnows, maybe 6-7 inches. Had 1 solid strike but it swam straight back under my boat and I couldn't keep tension on the line and it escaped. Based on the pull on the rod, and the pair of less small bass I'd caught the previous two days, I would guess it would have been around 12-14 inches.

I boated around and talked to some people, but the wind was screwing things up big time. Too fast to drift down the pads, casting going awry, etc. Also, I had forgotten my worms so that really limited my options. Next time I'll bring worms.

There is nearly unlimited, really great cover to fish into. I hope the next time there is no wind. Or that I could catch at least 1 crappie.
