I started fishing about 3:30 in the afternoon after my first final at CWU. I was trolling a woolybooger fly in my float tube. I was catching little planters all afternoon. I caught at least 20 of the little guys. At about 6:00 the wind started up like always in Ellensburg. So I decided to make a couple more passes on the west side of the lake. On my last pass I hooked a nice 15 incher and released that one as well. Since I caught that fish I decided to make one more pass and that is when the monster hit. He hit and just took off. 150 feet of line later I slowed him down. I fought him for about 15 minutes and finally got him to the net. He measured 24 inches I figure he was at least 6 pounds. Just a beautiful fish. Not a lot of worn fins from the hatchery and beautiful colors. Not too bad of an afternoon to break up a week of finals.
