Wow what a great day on the water. Weather was great not to hot. Got a late start but the lake was quiet not a lot of boats out. Just bought my now 6 year old a new Jimmy Huston camo pole and had to break it in. Fishing mostly drop shots and Carolina rigs in the 20' range off of main lake points. We really only fished about three or four areas and were consistently catching fish. We lost count but the wife says we were north of 40 fish. Mostly average fish with a few over 2lbs. Had one at the boat that I thought would go around 3 but when the wife tried to net it the fish turned and she hit the line with the net and it came unhooked I felt bad for her cause she felt so bad. We fished that same point for another 30 min. And I caught what looked like the same one again (pictured). Went 2.6 on the scale and all was right with the world again. The boy caught plenty of fish breaking in his new pole his biggest 1.6. This was the most fish the wife has caught I one day and she was he'd hot. We had trouble leaving the lake but the co. Launch closes at 8 and if your late they get really mad.

Thanks for posting updates! I borrowed a new motor for my little Livingston so I hope to get out on the lake this week. Any colors or smells you seemed to have success with? I usually troll outside the county launch or off the ball fields on Tapps island. Did those spots work for you?
