I have been fishing the east side of Sammamish pretty consistently after work (630-10PM) for a few weeks now. I usually launch at my buddies house and work north for an hour or two, then work south for an hour or two. Mainly just work the docks about 5-10min at a time. You can spot me on the east side in a 9' Livingston puttin' around.

For the majority of the time I was using weightless texas rigged senkos. I was able to hook up on a couple little SMB and a lot of perch but nothing much beyond that. Got most of my hits (some felt like decent bass, most were perch) on a senko jig, both weightless and rigged up with a football head (Thanks AMX). Any time I tried crankbait, swimbait or spinnerbait I was skunked. The only time besides Tuesday night that I hooked up on a noteworthy fish was a 3lb largemouth at the north end of the lake I caught ripping the lillys with an aglia in mid June.

On Tuesday night and at about 9:30PM things got good. We were working the docks south of where we launch. We had been skunked for the past two hours and we knew we were due. My buddy decided to switch it up and throw a special lure (plastic) on there that he tears it up with at Potholes. He was working it through the weeds... twitch twitch swim... twitch twitch swim... twitch twitch WHAM! He hooked up on a niceeeee 3.5LB largemouth (we have a scale)!

It was awesome. Perseverance pays off. Will be back to fish on Friday.

Hey, feel free to message me if your looking to go fishing with another paddler. I have been dialing in the north end of Sammamish for the last few years, and can help fast forward the learning curve a bit. I live right by Idylwood Park.

I agree with AMX. Would be awesome to fish that lake at night. Sammamish gets a lot of pressure during the daytime.

Maybe the 4 of us can get together some day. Yak, FF, lunker, and me. Maybe even others if they want. Have a good time fishing, and maybe an on-the-water sandwich lunch.

I like the idea of the Sammamish "regulars" getting together. If AMX will put lunker in his boat, and FF gives me a lift, we could even have a nice little mini-tourament. :)

My thoughts exactly.Elijah Loves Fishn and his friend would probably like to join also. No prizes or we'd have to get a permit. If I remember correctly 6 or more people needs a permit regardless of the value of any prizes.

What's up fellas.. I'll be headin out sunday morning at 6. Hope to find some 3+ lb largemouth and smallmouth.
Used to fish the lake all the time, southend, in the lily pads and near the creek. Caught alot of 3+ lbers and the fishing started to go downhill. That Tuesday night with lakecitylunker was the first real good fish I caught in years out of sammamish.

Keep us posted on any fishin! Time to go to work.

P.s. I'm the one in the pic :)
