Well got an early start to the day arived around 6am and figured Iwould try and catch some kokanee. Started out just south of silcox Is. and set the gear heading north and had a nice takedown within 5 min of gear in the water, head shaking and a very heavy fish but it would not stop shaking his head and a long release it was. Well reset the gear and headed all over the lake on the south end will everyone else what a zoo....now I know why I like the afternoon week day....lol. Well I got my first fish in the boat after a few hours it was a small rainbow. Reset the gear again and heading back into the mouth of the south cornor of the lake and marked a ton of schools of fish but no takers. I headed back to my normal spot and trolled back towards the lsland and had a nice take down ripped it off the dr clip and took line off the reel this is going to be anice fish got it to the boat and its a big rainbow and into the net it goes, about 16-17 inches and fat. I tried all day to catch a kokanee with no sucess I stayed untill almost 5 pm. Let the lake with 4 rainbow trout one large ther rest small cookie cutters but they will eat good, the wife like them and so do the kids.
So twice now I have been skunked at American for kokanee I hope my luck will change soon it was hard to watch all these guys around me dip there nets but hey that's fishing......I did run into Toni on the lake and said Hello to them.
All my trout came on the dr at 18-38 ft using Toni's orange thing, and green ice tipped with some pink maggots and corn. Just could not figure out what the koke's wanted today.....another day.......
Tight lines!!!
