6/10/2014 6:21:00 AMAs a general rule of thumb, I typically start out within a range of .9 to 1.5 mph on my GPS and vary my speed, within that range, until I start picking up hits. I then try to stay matched close to that speed. However, there have been occasions where I have had to move into the 2 mph range to entice them to bite. Note: Changes in speed and direction can also trigger the fish to hit. Which is one of the reasons why many Kokanee Anglers troll in an "S" pattern. I watch my lines extra close during turns.
