So thought it would be a good B-Day present for my mother and take her up to her old stomping grounds for the weekend, and why not get some good fishing while up there. So got up to Pierre on Friday around 10 and didn't hit the lake until late afternoon after getting unpacked and all settled in. Since mom went up a day early she had been fishing from the dock already and had the first Koke of the trip using a green meps. Well day one only produced the one Koke from the dock and when the sun started to set I was just setting out my line and before I could get set the rod started dancing and it produced a nice 3 LB bow on a lime green wedding ring and a little chunk of worm.
Now day two was a different story. Hit the lake a little earlier this round. Once we found were the little silver buggers were hiding it was fish on for the next little while. All fish caught on red and green wedding rings in about 24' going 1.3-1.8 mph. What a gorgeous lake, now have to take the 5 hr trip back up there to target some of those big ol' bucket mouth bass.
