I was excited for the weather forecast for this weekend so got the Tin Cup all ready Friday but wouldn't you know it, ended up working Saturday from 6:30 to after 3pm and then was just wiped out plus looked pretty windy out so figured I could sneak out before church on Sunday for a few hours on the big lake.
Of course today a marine layer hung over the lake and a pretty good north breeze was blowing but got to the Atlantic city boat launch at 6am and motored straight across and wanted to try out some new stuff so 1st thing I put on was a hand tied spinner with green smile blade and a slow death hook on the business end.. Put on a lively night crawler and set out a 100" behind the boat. After a while switched over to a cut plug herring in my new brine from the East coast and trolled that around a while without any action.
So you know what's next~ yep, put on the ol' Brad's cut plug and stuffed it with the chopped up herring and dipped in herring dippin' sauce and put it at 19' feet on the wire. As soon as I passed Paul Allen's house got that familiar tap tap and pulled it off the clip and it was fish on! Not too big but scrappy and unfortunately was hooked bad and bleeding so bonked it and put in ice chest and made my way back to the launch to get home in time for church!! Not a bad morning and at least with the weather there was only one other boat trailer in the parking lot when I left at 9:30
This week I am getting to American lake for sure!! See you on the water!
