Russ Carver graciously asked me if I wanted to go fishing in his boat on American and I said yes! So we scheduled to meet at 5:15am. After a mishap we were fishing by 6am.
I told him to go where I had been fishing and where someone I knew, DZ, was fishing and had 5 already. We put pink maggots on because it was working for them. But we didn’t have a bite nor see any fish on the finder. We moved over to the northeast side of the island and Russ found some fish on the finder. As well as some unusual things in the lake on the finder. Maybe ropes? Any way I had changed up and was using green now and hooked into a nice one that got away! Then Russ had a couple, one that got in the box. Then I told him I would have to go at 10am. I had changed up and put on a agitator in pink on a Dick Nite Pink Splatter dodger and finely hooked one that got into the boat at 9:50am and he said it was up to me about leaving so I said I am ready to go. While the fishing for us was not red hot I did learn something about how to find fish because I was using the map from Washington lakes and I think it helped explain.
It was a very sunny calm day with lots of cottonwood on the lake.

We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.

Great job guys! Way to find the fish on a nice day. I know what you mean about the ropes or something....I lost some gear today and it was not cheap....oh well glad to hear you got some fish today.

Nice chunky one, Toni! Mike @Bills was telling me there are some old ropes (buoy markers) from the rowers. I have seen some on my side-scan and set a way-point to avoid loosing gear.

There are more than one. I think there are at least 2 and maybe 3. One was from bottom to top, diagonal. On the finder it looked like we should have been able to see it floating on top.

An industrious diver could probably open his own tackle shop on what's hanging off that rope. :-(

How long of a leader were you running, Toni? Wondering if my lack of success Sunday came from too short on the leaders...

Hi Toni_ Always good to hear from you and see you on the lake. My partner Mr. Kaz and I caught 8 and put 6 in the boat. When you came over I thought for sure you were gonna hook into some fish. We started EARLY from Russell's landing. We left at 07:07 See you again on the lake.

That figures DZ. I thought you must have started early.
We found Sunday tough too, Fish Dawg. Someone I know takes my lures and shortens them to about 8 inches he got 2. Mine are about 12 inches for our boat on Sunday we got 4 (all before 7). I think it is important to find the fish and then find what they want. It could be how many feet behind your boat or the scent or the way you showered that morning or didn't...just when you think you have it figured out you don't.
