Went out fishing and try to get some trout, found a spot on the shore at Kapowsin. Started throwing out some power eggs and some power bait nuggets, also threw a couple of lures, nothing seemed to work.... Then my brother showed up with some big night crawlers, that he pulled from his yard the night before. and a bag of colored marshmallows, something we used to use all the time, before all the power eggs and Power Bait. He put a big old Nightcrawler on his hook and slid three pink marsmallows down the line and on top of the crawler, 5 ft of leader and about three quarters of an ounce of weight. He heaved it out there and let it sit.
We were just sitting there talking, about 15 min. go by and his poles doubles over! Luckily he had the drag set loose,
because it started screaming. He picked up the pole started fighting this fish, he knew it was big, but we never dreamed it was as large is it is. I got to imagine that the fish weighed around 7 or 8 pounds!! pretty good for the shore. We caught three other small ones around 10 to 12 inches. But all in all a great day of fishing.
