Well hit the lake today at 12:45pm and the wind was blowing but not to bad. Started out slow very slow, trolled the north end just past the island with no luck. Changed set ups a few times and after two hours I caught a nice fat rainbow so I was happy got some blood in the boat. The sun was out here and there but for the most part cloudy and cold. Wind started to pick up again so I changed set ups and bam fish on a very nice 14" kokanee. Reset the lines on the DR and fifteen minutes later a second kokanee same 14 inch and fat now I was getting really happy with the chance of getting my first limit of the year. Reset the gear again and no sooner then I get it set the pole starts dancing and pulls the clip, hmmm....big fish?? Took my time and it was heavy I thought maybe it wrapped the second line but nope a super nice 15 1/2" kokanne took my time and another in the boat. By now its 5pm and the wife calls time for dinner. I stay a little longer but no luck so I took the 4 fish home with a smile on my face!! All fish caught 17 - 30 ft on the DR. I was using a swing blade and a pink bahama mama I think its called, has a bill on the front for action. Tipped with the all might corn of course. Thanks Toni for the tips as it has got me catching these wonderful tasting fish. I smoked the fish from my last trip and they came out great, so I might smoke these to just not sure yet. Wish I had a deep fryer.....
Tight lines everyone!!
