What a long six months. So glad the lake has reopened for fishing season. Couldn't go opening weekend or this weekend so decided to take a day off work when the weather was better too.

Fished 10:30-3:30pm under sunny skies and about 70 degrees. Water temps 57.4-59.4. Light to no wind - really a beautiful day.

Guess we were six-months rusty. Went to all the honey-holes and combined trolling with plugging. Tried many tried and true lures and some new choices and still found fishing fairly tough. K. had one hit, P. had two hits and connected on one as we watched a nice size trout jump and splash and then it was gone. I buttoned up on two, and got a small trout right to the side of the boat and he was gone. The new Christmas net did not get wet today!

The depth sounder found a hot spot but they were likely kokanee which we were not targeting. The sounder marked them routinely 25-38 feet deep. Didn't see any bass.

The hot dogs topped with chili were a good picnic lunch. At least we caught indigestion today. With no fish in the boat we epitomized the "bad day fishing is better than a good day at work" saying.
