American Lake 4-20-14 Happy Easter
We were fishing just after 6am and Glen had one in the boat shortly after that. Then we waited a bit. I got one by the island. I can’t remember exactly how it all happened but we had spurts of catching (or missing) then nothing, followed by more catching. Between 9:30 and 10am we had a batch that went from the long lined rod with 1/2oz weight, next 17 foot down and to where I was at 32 feet on the downrigger.
It was a hodge podge of catching in different areas, too.
The core element today was Wannafish A Lure’s Gilded Lily (pictured) and corn. All but one of the kokanee were caught on it. I used Dick Nite Dodgers (pictured) while Glen had other dodgers. I am not certain what he used.
I don’t know what F24’s side caught, 5 or 6 kokanee and a few trout, but I got my limit. One of Glen’s weighed 1.4 pounds and I had 2 that I weighed which were 1.3 and 1.4. My largest one was 14.25 inches.
I did notice that on their Lowrance the speed said most of the time 1.6 or 1.7 but on my GpsCompass app we were going 1.4 and 1.5.
The day before Glen and Cami’s F24’s boat got a total of 16 kokanee. The bite was not as good today.
We quit about 11:15am. The weather was gorgeous but very chilly. The wind came up just before we left.
We also hosted a pair of ducks the got up on the off shore bracket but didn’t feel safe enough to come in the boat. It was funny watching these 2 sets of eyes and the top of their head appearing just above the fish box. Couldn’t see their beaks just the top of the head and eyes
We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.
