After leaving Ballinger I took my wife to a doctors appointment near Greenlake. So while the doctors were doing their thing, I decided to do mine. Off the Greenlake. I head to my safe spot near the 65th street dock and cast from shore. Rowers are in full force, birds are all over the place. Joggers and dogs surround the lake. As always if the fishing isn't that good you have other things to keep your attention. Bait up and cast. Within minutes I have my first hit. Rod bends and I clumsily try and grab the pole. I feel the head shake and then it ends. Bait is missing but at least I know fish exist. Load and launch round 2. This time I hold onto the rod. About 15 minutes later the light tug happens. I missed again but the bait is still on the hook or so I think. I wait a minute to see what happens and the rod bends. Fish on and this thing is aggressive. Good 12 to 13 inch trout with great color. Way bigger than the fish I've caught at Ballinger. I will have one more light hit and then have to call it a day.

Fish was released to swim and be somebody elses dinner another day.

Ran into a guy I've seen at Ballinger and let him know the fish are way more aggressive and far bigger than what he's had to deal with up north. Will I be back? Heck yes!
