4/8/2014 9:03:00 PMWell at least you got stay at the cabin and experience the beauty of the lake. The folks at the ranch are great people as well. I have fished lake many times and usually start out trolling (needlefish spoons, whooly bugger flies, hootchies with a smile blade allpulled behind a small Zone Cone flasher). When things get really slow we will tie up just below the lower pens or near the upper pens and soak some rainbow powerbait. This will usually produce a few even when the bite is off.

I think the wife would have been content even if we hadn't fished at all (She absolutely loved the cabin and setting) My downfall probably was I didn't realize people were using flashers/pop gear in front of the jigs and flies. Regardless we had a great time getting away fishing, catching is just a bonus.
