I wasn't really sure I was going to even bother posting this, but I try to be as honest as possible about everything, even my failures. I didn't plan on heading out to the water today, but when I did, I wasn't even sure if I was going to fish.
Spontaneous outing today. My domestic partner, it's complicated, was over and we decided to check out Sammamish. 1st trip out on the water.
Filled up with 20 gallons of ethanol fuel. Changed water separator filter when I got to the park. Manually pumped gas through the lines and filter. Back trailer into water. Tie up on dock.
Time is a little after 1:30PM.
Turn key and wait for it... vrrrooomm. It seems to be running a little rough. I'm thinking it's bc fuel is still working it's way through all the lines in the motor side. Not to mention, burn off all the fogging oil, which probably fouled up the plugs. I replace the plugs AFTER the 1st outing, due to the fogging oil.
Took a quick spin around the lake and motor seems to be fine. It does sound just a little bit louder than usual. Or maybe it's just me, I don't know. But runs perfectly fine.
After a bit, I couldn't resist. I tied on a jerkbait and started casting. She had on a mid diving crankbait. We worked 2 points. She had a follow. She said it looked like a trout. I had a slap on my jerkbait, but didn't stick.
Then another spot with cover. No signs of anything there. Didn't see any trout/koks jumping. Didn't see much on sonar. Water temps right at 49-50 degrees.
Driving along the lake, it looked windy. By the time we got on the water, it was calm at our 1st fishing spot. A little too calm. Then 30 mins later, wind started picking up. So, I think we got in ~45mins of actual fishing. Was done and back on the trailer by 3PM.
Now I just need to put in fresh sparkplugs and it should be good.
