We got the boat in the water at 9:45. We started trolling a Lil Rebel crawdad crankbait and a rainbow trout colored spoon which produced two fish. Around 11 I switched to a slow death hook rigged with a Berkley Gulp 3" slow death crawler. I caught two fish within five minutes and my partner changed to a slow death rig as well. We caught the last six trout of our limit in an hour and half. We also lost four fish and missed some strikes. We used the natural crawler, orange and brown, and chartreuse and black crawlers. We had to deal with light rain throughout the morning with a couple of periods of real downpour. The surface was like glass until the last forty-five minutes when the wind picked up a little. Only a couple of other boats were on the water. i trolled in the southern half of the lake doing clockwise circles. I always kept the no wake buoys on my right and never got closer than fifty feet from them.

Where You Trolling Just The Worm By Itself Or Did You Have Anything Flashy With It? How Deep Any Weight Added To The Line.

I troll the worm by itself. I used a quarter ounce bullet weight, a swivel, and a four foot leader of 10lb Berkeley pro grade flouro. The key is the Mustad slow death hook. It is an aberdeen hook with a bend in it. When you thread a real or plastic worm on it the bend causes it to spin, kind of like a cut plug herring. I was just a long cast behind the boat. Sometimes I put three 6mm beads and a smile blade on, but usually just the worm. Sportco in Five has the hooks.
