On the positive: sunny, virtually no wind, beautiful day with lots of waterfowl viewing; on the negative: NO BITES and NO FISH. On reflection, early Spring, Sprague Lake bank fishing can be a bit SLOW. On the somewhat amusing side: As my wife and I were about to quit for the day, a rather talkative fellow angler walked in and not only asked about our luck, but asked if he could make a cast to "straighten out his line"? Of course, his cast resulted in big "bird's nest" and still chattering away, he proceeds to strip off his line; which I put in my take away garbage bag. He then asks if he can use my wife's unoccupied fishing chair to "tie on another lure". As he lowers himself into the chair…"WOW, I could really get into this" (kind of fishing)…"I generally just fly fish or cast lures". All settled in my wife's chair, he continued to chatter away as my wife and I rolled our eyes and packed up to finally go and get him to give up the chair and move along. Although not heavy set, the guy reminded me of the John Candy character in the comedy movie classic, "Planes, Trains and Automobiles".
