Decided to try Merdian out for the first time this weekend to target kokanee. Fish were rising everywhere so I brought out the flat lining gear which was a UV Sling blade and a red kokabow lure. Started to nail the rainbow planters which were released. I was in about 28 feet of water near shore by the fishing docks. I hooked into 2 small kokes roughly around 8 inches, maybe less. These suckers are very hard to keep on the hook as both seemed to be escape artist during my transition to grab the net. The rainbows stuck just fine. Nothing else hit later in the afternoon so I packed it up. The season is definitely under way and Im excited to bring home some limits. Today was a great confidence booster.
