Well my son wanted to go fishing so off we went. Arrived at 7:30 am to a very nice calm lake with a bakers dozen other boats already in the drink. No worries were there to have a good time and enjoy the day. We started around the south side of the island using the same flasher and bloody mary from Toni tipped with corn and I was using a pink set up from Toni nothing. It started to rain on and off all morning the wind started to blow and it got cold.

My boat is a miro craft all open to the weather so no place to hide. We suffered for a time the boy was getting bummed. He started to long line and still no luck we changed gear up many times. I was running anywhere from 24 to 47 on the wire marking very few fish. I got tired and said well its back to the old long line with 4 split shots and a pink ice from Toni tipped with a small piece of worm. Fishing that for a hour all along the north end of the lake nada. Got around to the city launched heading south and my boy says dad you got a fish.......oh man it was heavy and the blood pumping fish on!! Got it to the boat and a very nice 17" rainbow my son grab the net and got it in the boat. I saw another fish jump out of the cornor of my eye so I grab a new piece of worm and just let the fish sitting in the net and casted out. WAHM another fish oh my son was upset.....but I handed him my pole and say's really......I say yup here you go. I got my fish on the stringer just in time to grab the net for another nice 13" rainbow.

So were excited make a few more passes and nothing so we head south to the other end of the lake and were heading pass the area where the big ice cream cone is and wham I was my son's pole do the fish dance..I am laughing and he looking at the duck flying around and says what?? I say fish on he was like oh yah!!!! excited and finally a fish on his pole the first for the year another nice rainbow fat fish around 12" but heavy football. He got that on a Pink ice from Toni tipped with worm long line with four splitshots no flasher. All in all spent 7 hrs on the lake he was hungry and the fish just stopped bitting so we left happy fisherman. Can't wait to go do it again. Tight lines and happy fishing everyone.
