I arrived at green lake at 12:30. I started fishing the south end of the lake near the amphitheater. First rod I set up with rainbow power bait on a size 6 octopus hook set 2' from a pegged red bead & 1/2 oz casting sinker, free sliding. Plunk set up. Casted that firat then set up an olive wooley bugger on my 6 weight, tossed that fly around fo a while with no luck.. wind made it difficult to cast, possible but difficult. After an hour with no success I moved to the 65th st dock on the east side of the lake. I changed my bait to cluster roe on my plunk set up, but kept the rigging the same. Casted it. Then set up my ul set up with a deep diving size 7 rapala, red/chartreuse colored. I casted and retrieved it while I was waiting to hear the bell on my plunk set up. About 10 minutes in I got a viscious strike, it pulled a good 30' of line off my drag, before I could get it to turn around, and about 3 minutes after I hooked it, I brought it in a very chunky 17 1/4" rainbow... I was hoping for a brown but I can't complain its still a nice fish. Very good fight on my 4# ul set up. 3 cast later just as I was about to lift the lure out of the water I got another strike, and hook set, this fish came unbuttoned after a couple head shakes. It had some weight on it, I believe it was larger than the one I caught. 30 minutes later I got another hit in the same spot with the same lure, and again I didn't catch it. I didn't get a solid hook set on it.. the action died out as tge winds grew too strong to deal with. I left the lake at 4pm. A nice day to be on the water. Beats a day of work that's for sure.
Ps my "new" phone. Got ran over by a car, back to foggy crappy pics from my old phone.. sorry guys.
