Tried again today after being skunked yesterday. Both my son and I lost fish due to not hooking them properly. We also got bait taken several times. We caught 2 in the 14" range. Did bottom fishing with rainbow glitter powerbait, rainbow power eggs, inflated worms, and 'stinky cheese' powerbait which the fish seem to enjoy the most. We've tried the liquid smelly attractant but not sure that's really working.

Thanks for the report. That is my hometown lake, and love hearing about the fishing done there. The best result I have had with scent added to the presentation on this lake, and Island lake, is to put just a drop or two on your finger and rub it about 10-12" above your hook. That way the fish can still smell and locate your bait, but the smell will not overpower the bait. Sometimes the smell is too strong for the fish and they will not bite it. So with that said, the strong smell is above your bait, which then the fish will still consider the bait below even if the smell above is too strong.
