Started late, about 10am, turned out that any earlier might have made trolling pretty difficult as ice near the barrels above Chief Joe had not melted enough to get very close. Lost a fish trolling away from dock, but my son, Kyle, had 1st fish of the day less than 10 minutes later. Nice 10lb. Triploid, only 25 inches long. Spent the the next 2 hours catching and releasing about 10 or so Rainbow, both small native and triploid below 16". Kept our 4 keepers that included a 19" Kokanee and very small 12" rainbow that got hooked in the eye. Only once went up to 25 minutes without strikes. Lost count of the number of hits some fish as many as 3 times without sticking. About 20 other boats launched but seems about half headed up the 30+ miles to the pens or walleye fishing. The other boats kept saying the fishing was slowest they'd seen. Our "Tip of the Day" to these others included slower speed and longer lines. Unbelievable Febuary weather, 50 degrees, not a cloud in the sky and no wind. Don't think we'll go back soon as wasn't able to get a nap in. Telling everyone the fishing is the "slowest we've ever seen!"
