When determining leader length, does fishing begin just off the bottom, and shorten that leader working toward the surface? Or the reverse? Was the full sink line effective with a slow or fast retrieve/troll speed? I've fished this lake on and off since a wee lad.

Start from the bottom and then adjust. use hemostats to lower the fly to the bottom and set the indicator 1 -2 feet toward the fly to start. or with full sink I reel in to just off the bottom, remove the hemostats of course and fish that line that is left out. microslow retrieve sopping at various depths.
