Fished Cda and the chains again yesterday with Mark K. I was attempting to outfish him from the back of his boat as he has done to me on more than one occasion this year. if you ask me I accomplished my goal. If you ask him it was a 1 to 1 tie. His opinion is based on the fact that we were pike fishing and when you're pike fishing you don't count bass. The other reason he feels it was a tie is because while he was still trying to untie some kind of knot in his line so he could start fishing for the day, I caught this 20' 5lb largemouth my very first cast of the day. Since he was not ready to fish yet, my fish didn't count.
Now, as far as the pike fishing goes, I caught one pike at 25". He caught one pike at approximately 22". Now we will never really know how long his fish was because it was so small he refused to measure it and released the fish.
Total fish on the day was one pike each, and one bass for myself. Total pike on the day was one each with my fish easily outmeasuring and out weighing his. Did I mention that the sole pike he caught came after the fish savagely attacked my soft plastic frog and missed it, then Mr, Kendall instantly tossed his spoon over the area of the hit and run attack, and caught the fish that I had worked so hard to locate???? HHMMM
Who was the winner of the day long fishing derby? You be the judge. Your opinions and comments are greatly appreciated.
Slow slow slow was the pike fishing. We did see some nice fish that wouldn't bite and missed a couple of others.
