Living ten minutes from this lake its my afternoon getaway. Fishing was sporadic throughout September as the fish were feeding only on large midge hatches every evening however the cooler temperatures and winds have lowered the water temp to about 56 degrees and the browns have turned on. I didn't get out until about 10am but that didn't seem to matter. The fish were active all day. I was trolling a pearl/rainbow colored flat fish(size 7 I think) behind a 2 oz banana weight with 50ft of line out as slow as I could at the south end of the lake in 26 to 32 ft of water with 13 inchers hitting every 5 minutes. I switched to a 1 oz crippled herring type jig just off bottom and drifting with the wind nailed the 4 largest browns I saw that day ranging 17 to 19 inches. Most boats were consistently catching fish so I'm sure they are actively feeding for the winter now. FYI this lakes closes at the end of this month.
p.s. This lake has a diverse enough food chain to support large fish so if the little guys aren't hurt, let them go cause next year they will be 18 inches and way more fun to catch and eat.
