Went back to Deer in search of the Mackinaw but was unable to catch them. I tried a few 4" spoons in various colors, and a 4" Apex lure as well as a 4" Chartreuse/Chrome flatfish without a hit. Tried the mouth of the narrows and the northern shore. I could see them all over the place and had both downriggers running lures at 40' and 55', but they just ignore them. One of these days I'll figure them out.

Having failed to get them to bite, I loaded up my limit of Rainbows quickly and called it a day. The standard Deer Lake lures produced... Apex and Mack's Wedding Rings, with a 1/2 worm at 18'-30'.

Hi Aaron sounds like my luck for the mack. The only guy that I new that could catch a good number of macks was augwen and I am sorry to say he is no longer with us but hang in there. God bless

Sorry to hear about that. Guess that explains why he hasn't responded to my emails lately.
