Hit the lake in the afternoon. On the water by about 1:00 and it was still overcast. Water surface temp was about 72. Started out on the point furthest to the right of the county park before it opens up to large bay there. The wife and I immediately hooked into a double. A couple average fish. Hers was bigger of course. Caught a few more there before this kid in a fiberglass dingy who was fishing near by sped off cussing and screaming because he did not catch a fish. Could hear him yelling half way across the lake. Headed over to the north side of snagg island caught a few off the points to the northwest side of the island. This is the wifes favorite spot because she caught about a 3 plus pounder here a few weeks ago. Well she did it again only bigger. She landed a 4 pounder right in front of that kids house who sped off cussing. Good thing we had just watched him leave. Boy would that have ticked him off. Then we fished the flat just to the east in about 20 ft. Of water where it was one fish after another. We lost count in the 20's. fishing Carolina Riggs with KVD 4" finess worms in watermelon. Noticed the action really picked up as soon as the sun broke out. Best fishing seemed to be on that 20' range near a weed bed.

Thanks for the detailed report. And congrats to the wife! 4 lb smallmouth are far and few in between on Tapps. Been fishing Tapps for three years, and have yet to break the 4 lb barrier. Great photography, by the way.

the worms we were using we're actually the KVD Dream shot. Could not think of the name when I posted the report had to go back and look. They are salt and coffee flavored. Even the bass in the NW are hooked on coffee lol.
