Went fishing with my better half, along with the kids and my friend Russell Johnston, trying to erase the stain of an opening day goose egg.
We went to Quincy Lake for the simple reason that we could park the car at the water's edge and keep my four month old daughter comfortable. The fishing was okay on this cool Sunday.
We managed to land seven rainbows in a little over two hours. We had a lot of other nibbles and bites from the light biting fish too that we failed to translate into hooked fish. The average size of the fish was nine inches.
Others around us did equally well. We did see one young lady catch a nice 14 inch carryover. Powerbait was the bait of choice for anglers on the lake. It will be nice to have trout for lunch tomorrow!
