Well, they did it again! Time to sling the ole's Rodeo weed killer on Ohop Lake and totally kill everything including the bass fishing. It never fails. Just about the time my once favorite bass lake begins returning to normal, whoever the powers may be decide its time to give the lake another blast of chemicals, and fishing goes to hell in a hand basket. But even though there was a sign at the boat launch warning of the spraying, I gave it the old college try. I may as well have fished in a mud puddle. Not so much as a bite. In the past I have found it to takes at least two years before bass fishing returns to normal. Of course then it'll be time to spray the lake again. I have caught five bass over 8 lbs. Four of them were caught and released in Ohop, including my biggest ever, 8-12, which is the photo I added. Unless this lake is left alone, I am quite sure those kind of fish will be sporadic at best.
