We stayed at MarDons resort from Fri 7/19- Sun 7/21. We fished from our boat everyday but the best luck we had was fishing straight off their dock. We were using a feathered WHITE crappie jig with Powerbaits "Crappie nibbles" White in color. From the tip of the pole to the jig was about 4 feet of line. Then you just drop it in the water (off the edge of the dock)about 3 feet and jig it up and down while walking along the dock. Best areas were around the pump house.

4 people fishing we caught about 30 Crappie largest was 12-14" long also caught was about 20 perch longest was 14"

Yeah, 20 years ago I too fished for Crappie off of the MarDon Resort dock. The fish were stacked up right around the pilings.

I've been pondering a trip from the Tri-Cities up there for a while, and this tempts me terribly. Even a 10-11" perch is nothing I'd utter the slightest complaint about....

The perch fishing now off the dock isn't as good for the larger ones compared to a month and a half ago, we kept about 15 9-12 inchers then. A lot of dinks now with the three times I've went in the past week, only kept one decent sized one. Kept some keeper crappie but a lot of 8 inchers, hopefully good for next year. I've managed to lose 2 large slab crappies too, stupid things came up out the water jumping and got off the hook both times this past week.

Nice report! Too many years have passed since I enjoyed a good day of fishing from the dock. Used to be common place to fill a bucket with nice perch, bluegill, crappie, walleye and an occasional rainbow. Nicely done!
